Milwaukie - 09/14/26

Our Milwaukie Laundry event on September 14th was such a sweet one.

We served 26 neighbors and washed 47 loads of laundry!! 15 small, 22 medium, and 10 large loads were washed and dried. We had pepperoni and Hawaiian bacon pineapple pizza, snack lunches for folks to take home, and some seriously delicious cookies made by our amazing friends from GracePointe Church.

There were families, kiddos, lots of laughs, and some really beautiful moments of connection. The marvelous Laurie kept everyone smiling at the hygiene table, and we got to hear a touching story from someone who knew Teri and her work at The Father's Heart. They shared through tears about the hope they found and the gratitude they felt for the help they received. Now retired and doing much better, they come back to our events to help their friends get through laundry day.

That’s what community looks like! People who were once helped coming back to help someone else. We’re so grateful to be part of it.

You can come be a part of it too! Every 2nd Monday of the month, we are here in Milwaukie, so come on down; everyone is welcome!
