On January 8th, we spent the day at Cedars Laundromat in Sandy, serving 35 neighbors during a busy day of outreach. With laundry challenges and restarts along the way, we completed 7 small loads, 28 medium loads, and 10 large loads, making sure everyone left with clean clothes despite a few unexpected hiccups.

Our amazing volunteer Tony prepared a beautiful, nourishing meal featuring fresh veggies like carrots and cucumbers with yummy dips, flavorful couscous, and sweet green grapes. All much appreciated fuel for a long day.
In addition to laundry and food, we were able to distribute 7 propane tanks, 4 sleeping bags, a pair of shoes, and a coat to neighbors in need. Food boxes packed with groceries and to-go meals were also shared generously.
We were especially grateful to have the awesome folks from the Oregon Department of Human Services on-site, with four team members actively supporting neighbors, connecting them to resources, and helping navigate next steps. It was a joy to see such hands-on collaboration in action and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when the community comes together.
We are at Cedars Laundromat every Thursday, so hopefully we will see some of your smiling faces tomorrow!
