What a full and vibrant day in Sandy last Thursday at Cedars Laundromat! We served 38 neighbors and completed 49 loads of laundry. Machines were going nonstop, and so were the connections.
Lunch was a hit with tacos, chips, and kombucha drinks, keeping everyone fueled and refreshed while they waited. Good food always makes the day feel a little lighter.
The amazing Abby and Alec provided outreach services, including distributing propane tanks, a huge and practical support for folks braving these cold nights. We were also grateful to have Goodwill Industries on site, connecting neighbors to employment and resource opportunities.
Our favorite neighborhood compliance officer, Officer Moody, and his trainee, Logan, joined us as well, continuing those important community relationships. And we were especially glad to welcome some new neighbors who used our services for the first time. We’re always so happy to see new neighbors finding support and connection.
Clean clothes, warm meals, critical resources, and new connections, that’s what community in action looked like last week in Sandy.
We are at Cedars Laundromat every Thursday, so spread the word and tell your friends!!
