Sandy - 02/12/26

February 12th at Cedars Laundromat in Sandy was a steady day of community and connection. We had the opportunity to serve 34 neighbors, completing 7 small loads, 26 medium loads, and 8 large loads of laundry. Every load represents relief, dignity, and one less barrier for someone navigating a tough season.

Our meal was especially comforting last week: vegetable and chicken tortellini soups, plus potato and ham soup, served alongside rolls and cupcakes. A warm bowl of soup on a winter day creates more than just a full stomach; it creates space for conversation and connection.

We were grateful for the support of volunteers from the Damascus LDS Church congregation, the amazing Luke and Luis, who jumped right in to serve. Our fabulous Charlotte generously brought the soups and rolls and helped serve our neighbors, and the incredible Cece also joined us to lend a hand.

Our favorite community compliance officer, Kevin Moody, and Logan from Sandy Compliance stopped by to check out the vibe, and Grace, Tracy, and Blue from the Oregon Department of Human Services were here being angels, connecting folks to resources. When community partners show up alongside us, it strengthens the network of support surrounding our neighbors.

Days like this remind us that consistency matters, and that when a community works together, real impact happens one load, one meal, and one conversation at a time. Come see us in Sandy at Cedars Laundromat every Thursday, wash a load or two, and have a meal with us!
