Sandy - 05/25

May in Sandy at Cedars Laundromat was a fantastic success, not only because we washed and dried 187 loads of laundry for our neighbors, but also because we had a variety of incredible community partners offering a myriad of resources and support.

We had volunteers from all over, all together in one spot, because we want our events to have as much impact as possible to help improve the quality of life for our most vulnerable community members.

Last month, we were delighted to have some very special guests, the amazing Christin Guitron and her rockstar crew from DHS, here to help folks sign up for TANF benefits if needed while their laundry was in the wash. Thanks so much for coming down and offering such an essential service!

With the support from our fabulous, long-time volunteer Tracey Lambert and the lovely Judi Griffin from the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Boring, we helped 197 of our neighbors feel loved, seen, and supported, just with a clean load of laundry.

We also want to thank our friendly neighborhood Compliance Officer, Kevin Moody, for all of his good vibes and support. Rounding out the incredible lineup of awesome resources we had in May, we have the legendary Valerie and Kenny from 4D Recovery with all of their harm reduction goodies and addiction resources. The continued support from them is unwavering and indispensable. Thank you 4D!!

Of course, we will be back every Thursday at Cedars Laundromat, cleaning clothes and slinging support to our neighbors in need.

See ya Thursday!
