At our free laundry event on 8/7 at Cedars Laundromat, we had around 45–50 neighbors join us, and the hygiene items were such a hit that most bins were nearly empty by the time we packed up. The marvelous Tracy spoiled everyone with a delicious Alfredo pasta and peach cobbler!! It was so good that people came back for seconds and even thirds!

We met a few new folks and had great conversations while also helping get laundry started, which has been a fun way to connect with people we might not otherwise meet. Officer K. Moody, our quick-witted and friendly neighborhood compliance officer, kept us smiling. The amazing Ashley, the owner of Cedars Laundromat, brought her awesome kiddos and adorable puppy. Her daughter makes friendship bracelets for people, sometimes for free, sometimes she charges a dollar. However, for some reason, she always charges Alec $5! Of course, he happily pays, and it’s become a running joke that makes everyone laugh.
