Trash Extravaganza - 06/03/26

In this latest episode of the "Trash Extravaganza Tales" on June 3rd, we revisited a site that we first attempted to clean up on a rainy, soggy day back in January. After already canceling twice due to flooding, we were determined to tackle the mess. We made a huge dent in the landscape during that first effort, but it quickly became clear that the flooding had made it impossible to fully complete the job.

But we didn't forget!

That day, with the help of our incredible trash partner friends, we returned to finish what we started, and what a beautiful day it was! In the three months since our last visit, the grass, wildflowers, and blackberries had absolutely gone berserk. For the first time ever, we had to weed-whack a path just to gain access to the site. Thankfully, our team was more than up to the challenge.

We can confidently say that this site has been restored to its former glory!

We had eight participants with lived experience, one dog, and even a cat, join us for the fun. The crew enjoyed Pizza Hut, shared plenty of laughs, and made fairly quick work of this project.

A huge thank you to the amazing Kate for your coordination, communication, and for always making sure we have a drop box ready to go. Thank you to the incredible Jennifer, Deputy Clark, and David Coan for continually finding the best trash opportunities for our team. And thank you to everyone who helped create a more beautiful Clackamas County today.

Please enjoy some fun before-and-after pictures. We are very proud of what this team accomplished at this site. It was in absolutely horrendous shape, and thanks to their hard work and dedication, it has been transformed.
